When we cleaned out the house, we found postcards my parents sent each other 40 years ago. It was like finding a chapter of their story I never knew existed.

Krinkled currently works best with WhatsApp exports. iMessage and Messenger can work with extra steps — you'll need to export your chat using third-party tools, and we can help you convert it. If you use a different messaging app, let us know when you join the waitlist.

Yes. After AI generates your chapters, you'll review everything before it goes to print. You can edit or remove any content you don't want included. Nothing gets printed without your approval.

The best stories come from everyday messages — logistics, quick updates, casual check-ins, comments on photos… "On my way home," "Did you feed the cat?" or "Happy birthday!" all create context. Krinkled uses these moments to understand the rhythm of your year. If your chat has regular activity (even mundane messages), there's likely enough to build a meaningful story.

WhatsApp does compress images, but we optimize the photos for print quality during production, so that they'll still print clearly in the book. If you have higher-resolution versions in Google Photos or your Camera Roll, you'll be able to upload those instead.

Yes. You can upload photos from Google Photos, iCloud, or your device's camera roll instead of the the images from your WhatsApp chat or to supplement them. Either way you'll have full control over which photos appear in the final book.
